How a food waste collection system works

Instead of being transported and stored in unsealed bins, the waste is placed into a sealable opening, shredded and conveyed through a permanently installed pipe into an odour-tight tank. Occasional disposal is usually carried out by the same vehicle that empties the grease separator.
