Customised solutions for biological fat treatment
Whether in commercial kitchens, hotels, hospitals or the food processing industry: following cleaning by the grease separator, emulsified or finely dispersed grease particles often remain in the water at premises with exceptionally high grease loads. The Bifena biological post-treatment stage serves to further reduce this residual load. It helps to reduce residual fats in the drain, thereby ensuring compliance with even the most stringent discharge regulations.
Flowchart
The process begins with the dirty waste water being fed into the grease separator (1). Following this preliminary treatment, the water flows into the Bifena (2) for biological secondary treatment. Nutrients are specifically supplied to the microorganisms via the urea dosing tank (3), enabling them to break down the remaining fat components. Following this treatment process, the treated water finally leaves the plant via the sampling chamber (4).

High flexibility
The Bifena utilises the tried-and-tested standard tanks from the KESSEL modular system. However, these can be adapted in terms of shape and size to fit perfectly into specified, confined spaces and, in cases where installation is difficult, can even be welded together on site. Furthermore, the Bifena can be easily integrated into bespoke system designs: for example, in large catering establishments, commercial kitchens or industrial projects with stringent requirements regarding effluent quality.
