In Aarhus, Denmark, the ‘Telefontorvet’ is a modern building that combines residential and commercial space. The ground floor houses commercial premises, including a fast food restaurant. Comfortable, modern flats were built on the upper floors. For the safe and hygienic drainage of the kitchen in the restaurant, the planners opted for a professional solution from KESSEL: a fully automatic grease separator. This ensures that fats and oils are reliably removed from the wastewater - an important contribution to environmental protection and to protecting the sewerage system. As the wastewater from the kitchen could not enter the grease separator by natural gradient, a worm pump was also installed. It lifts the waste water and feeds it directly into the separator - fully automatically and reliably. With this combination of grease separator and lifting system, the Telefontorvet project is a good example of modern, technically sophisticated drainage in mixed-use buildings.
